Former Head of Apollo Heating buys Booth Mechanical.

Shaun Maclean, the former owner of Apollo Heating Limited, is pleased to announce that he has acquired Booth Mechanical Services, one of the north-west's oldest and best-known plumbing and heating engineers.

The acquisition was formally completed on 8th October 2009.

Mr Maclean, a Liverpool-based businessman with a long history of success in the plumbing and heating trade, is delighted to be back, and to be at the helm of such a long-established company as Booth Mechanical Services.

Mr Maclean says:
“In some respects it is a sad day, as it sees long-time BMS Directors Ron Hitchmough and Tony Hull leave the business.

“I know many of the company’s personnel will be sad to see them go and I would like to personally thank Ron and Tony for giving me an opportunity to continue their sterling work.

“The construction industry and its associated disciplines have not had an easy time over the past year but I see Booth’s as an excellent local company, and I would like to see BMS at the forefront of Merseyside’s plumbing and heating business again, over the next few years.”

Booth Mechanical Services is proud to continue its long-established tradition of training, with the appointment of 3 new Apprentices.

We are very pleased to extend a big welcome to Dean Pink, Jonathan Bullcock and Liam Lundon, who have all recently joined our team on 4 year apprenticeships.

After a recent visit to one of our bathroom refurbishment schemes by the Considerate Contractors Organisation, Booth Mechanical were observed to be fully compliant in all areas (indeed exceeding the required standard in the majority of areas!).

The overall level demonstrated a clear improvement from previous visits, further underlining Booth Mechanical Services proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Continuing our tradition of ongoing staff development, Booth Mechanical Services was pleased to promote two employees to the management team recently.

Dave McMillan joins the team as Assistant Site Supervisor and Andy Murdoch as an Estimating and Buying Assistant.

Both Dave and Andy started their employment with Booths as apprentices progressing through to Qualified Plumbers before being invited to join the management team.

Booth Mechanical is delighted to welcome John Hammond to the team, as the company’s new Business Development Manager.

John has been tasked with raising Booth’s profile in the ever-changing construction market and brings a wealth of experience and expertise in construction marketing to the role.

Whilst based at the Booth head office, John will spend a good deal of time out meeting new contacts and promoting Booth’s capabilities in the market place.
